Implementing a cloud strategy is vital for a company that wants to share IT resources more efficiently. But it’s not without its challenges. MeetTheBoss Tv asked Colin Miles, Director of IT Technical Services at Virgin Media, about the impact of cloud on his organization.
Colin Miles is responsible for the delivery, operation and maintenance of all IT infrastructure that support any customer or internal service/application within Virgin Media, also responsible for the enterprise voice and data networks through to end user devices. This responsibility covers 20,000 end users in over 200 physical locations, over 8000 virtual and physical servers, over 25,000 end user devices from the desktop through to mobile phones and field engineer equipment and the core services that enable enterprise wide communications (eMail, Intranet, IM). Directly managing multiple departments of 150 people and indirectly an extended virtual team of suppliers and partners of 200 people.
