Senior management waste two days every week. Why aren’t you fixing that?

Why enabling better meetings may be the biggest senior management win of 2019

February 21, 2019 10:00 am GMT

Harvard Business Review surveyed 182 senior managers in a range of industries: 71% said meetings are unproductive and inefficient. 62% said meetings miss opportunities to bring the team closer together. This percentages are bad; the maths is worse.

According to Industry Week research, senior managers spend 50% of their working time in meetings. The average weekly working hours for management positions is 47 (Gallup, 2017). That means 23.5 hours in meetings, and 17 hours in unproductive and inefficient meetings. Two wasted days, every week.

This is a solvable business problem with immediate and provable ROI. An instant win with senior management. Why is it allowed to continue?
