This week, we’re in Copenhagen, Cape Town, Dallas and Nice. Which is nice.
In Copenhagen to film a story on 'how to adapt and evolve', with Rolf Habben-Jansen, chief executive of logistics giant, Damco.
Maersk Logistics, the supply chain management brand, and Damco, a freight forwarder, merged under the direction of Rolf Habben-Jansen on the 7th September 2009 – a volatile time to try something new. In an early statement, Rolf said it was a good thing the reorganization efforts began before the recession started, rather than after trade volume began to plummet, because Damco was able to reduce its costs before it was forced to do so. Business evolution is, after all, about change. So what made Rolf take a fresh look at the organisation – and take out an average of two layers from its management structure? And has it worked... Coming soon.
If you’re in Cape Town or Dallas, come and watch MeetTheBoss TV live at the Next Generation Mining Summit and the Next Generation Healthcare Summit respectively.
And we return to beautiful Nice and to the excellent TM Forum Management World. A fantastic event last year – where we filmed the wonderful Rory Sutherland – apparently they have made it even more magnificent-er this year. You see, that’s what happens when I run out of superlatives.
But you should watch the Rory Sutherland interview. Properly useful for anyone interested in creative thinking.
